It can take a little time finding that perfect spot, I would say you found it, well done!
Very Nice! I've thought of trying these. Fairly easy?
It's very cool Monica!
The species grows ( perhaps among other places) on trees hanging over a big river in Jamaica, and cruise ships calling here, deliver passengers to the river take rafting trips along it ( where one gets almost held to ransom by the raftmen, to buy their horrible native "art crafts" at ridiculous prices... but I spent my time, lying back, looking at the long spikes of the Broughtonias, floating in the breeze. Nice memories ( of days when my wife was able to walk miles, not yards - cruises are now beyond her ; don't grow old is my advice ! ) .
But attempts to grow Broughtonias have not had a lot of success for me ; I know that they have a greatr deal of sunshine in the wild - probably more than cattleyas. Difficult to replicate !
Congrats to you, and anyone who succeeds with a Broughtonia species ; cattleytonias ( half Broughtonia ) are much easier.
Very pretty Monica!

Chris, easy in the sense I havnt killed it in 2 years!!. Often forget to water even when it is very warm and it doesnt seem affected. I have the extra humidity here which helps of course.
Nice one. I have been very lucky with Broughtonia sanguinea myself. I have the most common red variety and a white clone. The rot extremely easily and should therefore always be mounted. I must say that I only give my plants normal Cattleya light or even a little less. They should be watered much less during cooler times in winter, otherwise they rot. Other than that they are easy.
A very beautiful Broughtonia sanguinea . Wish the picture were bigger.
