Masdevallias like it cold.I'm not suggesting frost, but many are happy in winter night temperatures as low as 7 or 8, and they are said to expire if the mercury goes above 30. But due to a combination of factors, my plants endured temperatures as high as 40 for some time in our summer this year, but this plant at least ( and quite a few more) seem quite undeterred and are flowering as usual.
This is a 9 cm pot seen here, and I have 5 flower spikes.
This mazzie is one of a group called "triquetrous" because the flower stems are triangular in cross-section , and they have the delightful habit of repeat flowering from the same stem for several years. Sometimes there are as many as 4 flowers per stem, too. And white flowers are always welcome. They never clash with any other colour.
Definitely a species to recommend, if you can grow orchids as cool as needful , although, as I say, they are tolerant of more heat than thought.
