Default Bulbophyllum phalaenopsis 'Windy Hill's Copperband' CHM/AOS

This is a new variation of this species that I got this past June and is the first bloom. It started to bud about the middle of last month. I am not sure why the bloom did not fully open like they normally do, but it might have to do with the age of the orchid, so I will be hoping for better results next year. I took photos from the bud about a week after I first noticed it till the start of the decline of the bloom.

Absolutely one of my favorite orchids-just because it is so bizarre. Unfortunately too big for my space and the smell is not the best choice for inside the house.

Thanks Susan. There are some that will stink up the house but they don't bother me with my sinus problems and fortunately all of mine grow outdoors year round!

That’s just so wild! I noticed in several posts,They mentioned the smell… Is it anything like a carrion cactus?
I had one of those years ago, and it bloomed....Was very quickly removed to my porch!

I have Stapeliads and the flower smells like something rotten (reminds me to feces smell as well) and it attract flies. Not sure the smell is exactly the same as Bulbophyllum phalaenopsis but 100% sure very unpleasant.
