I saw the normal coloured version of this in flower, tied to trees outside a bar on the pan-american highway ( I think its called) in Costa Rica, when on holiday there some years ago. Could not identify it. Asked in the bar, and told it "came from the bosque" which I think means the forest , with a vague hand pointing up the mountain behind the bar. Before I could go into any further, in my fragmentary Spanish( which I had been studying at the time) I got hauled away by my wife, who feared we would miss the bus, which had brought us there, and was going on to our next destination. I did take some pics, and found it hard to get it identified when I got back home. Got there in the end, and I guess it has been on my wish list ever since...
