Zygopetalum

So, I have zero will power !!! After repeatedly telling myself that I had all the orchids I could care for and that I wasn't getting more unless something died, I found a zygopetalum in the local supermarket--a rare find .Oh crap!!!! This was the next orchid on my want list.
You can guess what happened next. So can anyone tell me the difference between growing it and the oncidiums, beallaras, and trichopilias that I already grow.

Its tough to say no to an orchid on your list, and I have been know to always find room for another one. I am hoping that someone will know more then I do on your Zygopetalum and its requirements for good growth. Good luck.

Doing a lot of online research on him to and I believe the culture to be similar to my oncidiums

I use larger bark so I can water generously and they don't stay too wet too long.
I don't think mine like the heat too much so I may put them in a cooler spot this summer.
AOS website has a handy culture sheet I believe.

I agree with Mike. They like it cooler than your oncidiums, for the most part.

That ought to work. I keep my oncidiums, Beallaras, and the zygopetalum in a hallway near my front door and it stays 55-62 degrees. Think everyone should be pretty happy with that.

Oncids would probably prefer warmer.

They seem to like it, plus most of mine (one exception) are oncidium odontoglossum crosses which are notoriously cold growing. Think they will make good companions but only time will tell.
