I know that this is something that I have heard people mentioning before, but this is the first time that I actually have either been paying enough attention or had the time to notice.
So, I am right now in a pollinating frenzy (well, not a frenzy really, its only two plants). The Brassia finally is opening up, a nice cascade on one spike and the other is coming along nicely. So, I decided to employ Julie's method of pollination and used my finger in an attempt at a self cross since I don't have any other Brassias or Onc. in bloom. That was last night. I just took a look, and the physical response was very interesting, the column has now actually wrapped itself around the pollinia. Now whether or not it was accepted is another story I realize.
