What are you trying to catalog? Your own plants, an indigenous population growing near you, all orchids under heaven?
The scope and purpose of the catalog will suggest the most useful way to classify the population.

I have mine cataloged.Just alist on a database which also tells me howmany of a plant I have.It could be extended to cover more options
thank you orchid man
I have my orchids in a database too...
1. Microsoft Access - This software came with my Windows XP... anyways, this lets me put in a number, the name, date purchased, how much, where purchased, when it flowers, flower dimensions, picture (1), any other notes..
2. also, I've set up another database which is more like a picture-base on Word. In this I basically have the corresponding number, the name, and then the pictures and date of flowering...
