They all look great - the hieroglyphica is huge! Not only multiple spikes, but is that a keike or two I see?
I, too, am looking forward to a photo when it is in full bloom - nice one BD!!
Good eye, Sarah! It does have a keike. After the plant blooms and I make sure that it is actually a hieroglyphica, I will put the keike up for trade on Orchid-Bids. It needs to grow a bit more roots still and since I have not bloomed this plant yet, I want to be certain the tag is correct.
Cheers!

Okay, can anyone tell me how long this hieroglyphia takes to bloom? It has been in spike 4-ever! It has 10 spikes and they all have the tiny little beginnings of buds on them, but my other phals are growing spikes and budding out from almost nothing and there seems to be no change in the Phal. hieroglyphia. I repotted it and everything is healthy. It has good color, gets plenty of water and fert and light. What gives? I am ready to see some blooms.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,

Can't speak from experience with the species - I did get a seedling, but it has some growing to do.
I'd wonder if the 10 spikes might split off the plant's energy and each would progess slower accordingly. I do know that repotting can set back spike and flower development. I got some divisions from a friend this summer, and I repotted them once I got home. Probably more important than the repotting was the change in growing conditions. Mine bloomed two months after hers did - from the same plant.
Patience, Grasshoppa!
