Rootless Keiki

I have a mini Phal that is supporting not one but two keikis off of an older flower spike. To give you an idea of growth/stage, the largest keiki leaf is approx. 2 inches. I will include a pic.

My concern is that I haven't seen any sign of roots growing on either keiki. Do the roots grow at a later time or do I have a problem here?

Kidding, they're cute... Very healthy-looking plants indeed, I think they're doing just great.

It might take several months for the roots to show but as long as the leaves are healthy no need to worry.

Excellent! Thanks for the time frame.

These are obviously my first keikis and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect.

One always runs across “wait until it has a healthy root system and two or three leaves” which doesn’t say much about how it actually grows and average lengths of time. I’ll give them a few more months before I give roots a second thought, assuming the “mother” orchid remains healthy.
