Well, here they are, 2 of them have buds.... They never developed the long roots while in the water, but seem to be surviving. Thanks again, I hope maybe another couple will find their way in the spring!! (Not so subtle hint...)



Odd, the larger one in bud has a definite orange color - but it is the yellow one you sent??

Oh, great, Diane! Glad they are doing well! The Capotala Sport is dark peach with a ruby center; the Chinese Hat is light red. Just don't let them freeze in winter and you will have a bush next summer. The initial blooms may be small. Like orchids, the younger plants send up smaller flowers. If you can plant them in the ground you will have more flowers: don't know why - the root ball is not very big. In my other life I planted them in the ground in the spring and dug them up and put them in pots in a green house in the winter. Can any hibiscus folks jump in here with any info?
BTW, the onc orchids I got from you are doing great! The brassia rex looks like it's going to take over my porch and the others are thriving also! Linda has survived my inexperience and is doing well too! How about that?

My hibscus herd has done very well this year. LOTS of pruning to be done in the spring. Hint taken.

Just like Florida, they are year round growers here. But I have almost no "ground", just a 2 ft. border around the patio. So they will have to tolerate the pots!

I always think of the perfectly shaped reddish gaudy hibiscus. These are quite nice and unexpected.

My grandmother has a huge hardy hibiscus in her backyard that has the most delicious white and purplish flowers...not sure what it is, but it doesn't mind the cold!
