I'm sorry, I could never eat venison or even cook it. I just see a deer and think of Bambi. I would be thrilled to see one in my yard. I'm a real softie!
Be careful what you wish for when it comes to deer.
Ania, that's a hoot! Please post a picture. Of the wild woman screaming thing NOT the territory marking! LOL
Very interesting about the Zoo Doo, Diane. You have all sorts of interesting remedies. How did you happen upon this one? A degree in skatology? hehehe
Beautiful picture ... Venison jerky is good to lol
Katie,
I think you would feel differently if they showed up in your garden and ate all of the tulip buds ready to open tomorrow. They are really beautiful, and I like to see them, just not in my garden. Another problem with deer here is that they cause a lot of car accidents. One time a deer ren into the SIDE of our pickup truck! I guess there were two of them following each other, one ren in front of the truck and the other bumped into the side. My hysband was going really slow (we leave on a dirt road), so there was no serious damage to the car or the deer. It just stumbled around for a minute and took off.

Deer can also be discouraged by hanging strong smelling soap (e.g., Irish Spring) in mesh bags from bushes and lower tree limbs.
I also think they're very cute eating from Mother Nature's garden, but not when eating from MY garden.
