Well as far as Orchids from non-nurseries it,s just usually NOID Phals , most of these are Dutch grown.Occasionally an Oncidium & Miltionopsis.Nurseries have a pretty good selection but sometimes limited quantity , i suppose they have to stock orchids that will sell in our limited UK growing period.
For Paphs we,re pretty well set.Radcliffe plants have about everything you could want , apparantly they have 1 off the best selections world wide. They do have an American online shop.
In the UK we pay about the same in £(pounds sterling) as you pay in $ .
For instance my mature Phrag Sorcers Apprentce(has flowered before ) cost me
$75(+ postage).A NOID Phal costs about $17 , a named Phal costs about double that from a nursery. My Vanda Blue Magic cost $47.
It,s certainly not a cheap obsession.
The nursery i like to buy from(plants are in excellent condition/size has about 500 different types but not all of them are listed as they may only have 1 or 2
which normally are for the real serios collectors.
