Poor Gin! Is that ice? That's what I remember about winters in Missouri. Lots of snow here, too, but the main story is the cold---10 below F when I got up this morning. I'll bet I burned 30 logs yesterday in the fireplace; it was one of those rare days around here when the sun never warmed the house up.
I wish our Canadian friends would keep their artic air to themselves! LOL
Ice and snow , it is sleeting now . 10 belowis cold , I have seen it that cold here , but not often . Gin
YUCK !!!Sounds nasty, so be careful out there.

I feel your pain! I once spent a winter at Fort Lost in the Woods..... Oh I'm sorry.... Fort Leonardwood (sp?) doing some training while I was in the military. Needless to say, I have never been back, and have no future plans of returning.![]()
We are flooded here in C'vegas (our nickname for Clarksville). And now it is getting cold. The water is standing everywhere. The university had several buildings with water damage from the huge amount of rain we got last night in such a short amount of time.
Cheers,

I hope you don't get the sleet we got this afternoon BD.Aaron.. Fort Lost in the Woods is about 50 miles from here up I44, you mean you don't want a winter vacation in So. Misery ?

After several blustery days, today was unexpectantly mild - climbing up into the mid 60's.
I had to drive up to Portsmouth NH to get the rest of the chapter head drawings for the book, and that put me in Aaron Tester's (aka Atester) backyard. He ducked out of work so I could deliver his Mediocalcar decoratum...thank you, Lynda!...and I got to meet his lovely wife.
The frosting on the cake was when I was showing him some book stuff, and he helped me get the ancient Irish and Gaelic pronounciations correct for my appendix. Such a talented guy!
The drawings are amazing and the book should be complete to the publisher early next week! The mild day here was a boon!
Please stay warm, Gin and Lynda...and whomever else has gotten slammed before me.

I thought it was awful that we are getting into the mid upper 20s tonight and the next couple of nights. Last night and the night before we got lots of cold rain, but it just soaked into the ground, helping the water table and keeping our grass green so we have to keep mowing our lawns.
We got our first snow a couple of days ago and a light spritz tonight. It is very pretty. Fortunately we do not get enough of it that it becomes a burden. It does get pretty cold for us CA transplants.
