OK, how about a little closer look at the inside?
Oh yeah...

Well, no guessing now. What can you tell me about this flower all you experts (no perts allowed, just the ex ones!!!) out there.
It is totally NOT what I expected. Quite the opposite once it started showing. I figured yellow with dark traces!! This is the second flower on the spike. It seems to have better form than the first one. I am not sure if it is all the moving around it did or humidity changes but the lip is a lot more curled whereas this one lays out nicely. Other than the yellow spot on the lower left all the petals and sepals are quite uniform in color and shape.
(geez, am I starting to sound like a judge?)
I am also tending to think it might be a Wildcat selection. I have two and they looked much like that before they popped.
I didn't see the rest of the pics...it is Wildcat for sure, and most likely the clone 'Bobcat'...I have the same one....just opened today.
There's a lot of variation in the Wildcat cultivars. I'm willing to bet that's what yours is. It's never 100% certain with a NOID, but yours surely looks like Wildcats I've seen, and it's an incredibly popular cross with resellers. The NOIDs are often of the popular ie, cheaper crosses.

Hey, that's turned out well Steven! Todd, nice Wildcat!
Steven, I think we're all judges.... everytime we look at a flower and go... hmm, I like that, we've just been a judge! Ok, so my judging standards are probably not on par with say the AOC but heck... if it's nice I'll give it a home![]()
wohh! not only is it blood red, but the yellow tips look like plasma starting to separating.
i'm with McJulie on it being a wildcat
I was checking out my brassovola nodosa this morning. I thought I saw a new leaf!!!! Anyway, it hangs in a window near where this plant is currently residing. As I leaned over this one to check out the new leaf my nose was accosted. No, not by a leaf or a flower or a bug, but by a smell!!!!
HONEYSUCKLE!!!! Are wildcats supposed to be scented? Todd, is your Bobcat scented? Well, this one sure is.
