You did it! Nice work. Thanks for sharing. Of course we got my mom an orchid for mother's day too. She loved it. She is now starting her own collection. She has just got her first orchid to re-spike. She got one back in Nov. of last year. She is so excited about it.

I think my Mom is starting to get the itch to have an orchid. She has gone to several shows and an auction with me. She is really getting a strong interest in them (she is a florist to boot, so she loves the 'exotic' look of them) I just have to find the perfect orchid that likes shane, and doesn't mind being neglected for a while.

I am such a dork . I meant SHADE, but wrote my son's name SHANE instead. Shane does keep good company BTW

I can't speak about the "neglect" part, but the shade part is easy. In terms of the things we sell here, Phals will do well, and the Maudiae type (mottled leaf) Paphs will also.

But the place where you bought the plant you posted in this thread has some really nice, different, and cool-growing things that will also do well under Phal conditions. You should :check: them out online....
