    Default Phal Siam Treasure 'Blue'

This is my little Christmas surprise! It's a primary hybrid between Phal lowii x Phal pulcherrima var. coerulea.

Note that pulcherrima was in the genus Doritis, and the hybrid was Dtps until recently. Now it's all back in the Phalaenopsis genus.

It's got that wonderful hooked nose of lowii, and the color is great! The second flower is only just opening. The form is quite flat once it's open.

    Thanks, everybody!

Hoa, I bought it this summer from the fellow you purchased your Phal tetraspis from. (I got one of those also - I gave in to the dark side of the force!) I think this guy cost slightly more! This is its first blooming.

Anyway, the photos I've seen of this clone vary somewhat in color, but I think it's due to lighting. Different light can make the colors appear bluer or pinker. They're pretty accurate here, but it was just a quick snap shot. I didn't have time for a photo shoot. I'll try and get to that later this week. I have a couple of others I want to photograph. But I couldn't wait, so that was the first peek! The second flower looks darker, so we'll see how that opens fully.
