That's the cross and those are both species, so Bc. Maikai 'Mayumi' is a primary hybrid.
Diane, I'm not so sure you're right about the color. Most Bc. Maikai 'Mayumi''s are lighter, but I've just looked through more than a dozen different photos and about a third are as dark as Christian's. One specimen plant showed both colors on the same plant.
Lc. Richard Mueller also does a color shift after the blooms open. That a cross of B. nodosa x L. milleri. I'm betting the Brassavola Nodosa causes that. You don't see it in the species, because it's white (hence no pigments). But there must be something going on chemically in the flower that alters any pigment that's present as the flower ages. It's not evident until the nodosa is crossed with a parent that introduces pigment.
This is just a theory - anyone know more about this?

I don't think its the clone Bc. Maikai 'Mayumi' HCC/AOS... Maybe just a Bc. Maikai or a cross with it
