Milt Herralexandre growing conditions?

Hello,

I received a division of plant of Milt. Herralexandre about a year ago. It has approx. 1 psuedobulb and 2 growths. I have been reading that there are cool and warm growing Milts. Can anyone tell me which kind I have and what are the growing requirements? I currently have it in semi hydro and it appears to be enjoying it.

I believe it will grow in household temps because it is a pure Miltonia. Miltoniopsis are the cooler growing ones.

You can tell it contains mostly vexillaria and roezlii in it and this plant has been in cultivation and bred so long that it has to be an easy plant to grow. it's been bred over and over again my head hurts....this plant is a fine example of insest!

Smartie2000, have you been able to flower Miltoniopsis in Edmonton's climate?

I had one before yes, It flowered 3 times a year and was fragrant! It was pinkish purple. It died because of spider mites and I didn't treat i because I was young and did not know what mites did or looked like on a orchid. I actually thought the mites were a fungus...it was covered in tiny orange specks. I will get one like my old one again maybe.
I do have a new Milt regnellii f. alba but it hasn't bloomed yet.

They both are cool to warm growing according to the above info (thanks) so you are ok....
The winter time temps of Canada definitely helps but my passed Milt bloommed even in the summer, on an eastern windowsill in the kitchen. They are pretty, I think you will be expecting pink pansy blooms
Your plant has been breeding since/before 1920 and if its parents were not floriferous in cultivation they would not have been used.
