LOL! Two months at this stage is an eye blink in orchid time! They're pretty much as the January pictures show, I'm assuming. Aaron's in charge of the nursery. I get them back when they go to preschool and come out of flask.
Of the five flasks we sowed three of Mildred Rives as pod parent and two of gaskelliana as pod parent, one of the gask flasks browned out. We're not exactly sure why that can happen, when everything seems to be going along fine. It's not a contamination thing. Aaron thinks maybe they exhausted the nutrients in the flask.
We were talking about replating the remaining gask flask last month, because the babes were growing so quickly. But I wasn't sure how many times we could pester the Bio professor at Dartmouth, who'd let us use his sterile hood, so I asked Aaron to judge when we really needed it, if we might only get to use it once more. We decided to wait.
For more photos, you'll have to chip in and buy the Minister of Silly Flasking a digigtal camera. That, or else he and I will meet up again we're an hour forty drive apart and I'll snap some baby photos.
Aaron, do you have any teacher friends or school contacts in your area? I could always come up and visit some schools...
