I have a 'plain' old red form violacea plant that I picked up at a greenhouse last summer with a spike starting and I swear, it hasn't grown a cm! I must not be making the thing very happy. It's not dying, the roots are fine, it was repotted in "my" standard bark/chc/sphag/etc. mix in plastic.....but DANG it will not GROW! LOL Too cool? Too dark? Too bright?![]()
beautiful...I wish I could grow Phal species well. The greenhouse is kept too cool in the winter
Some Phal species take forever. That's the species influence. My Phal Penang Girl (violacea x venosa) took six months to grow a 2" spike. I swore it wouldn't bloom, but it eventually did:
