Is there something special about today? Have I mortally offended thee? What happens at midnight? I may well need to be tucked up in bed by then, although am very confused today as we switched to British Summertime this morning.

I didn't think a good old fashioned raspberry was too disapproving.

Naw, Kerry! I live for a good rasberry. Lynda's got it, but I'm not on the forum birthday list, so I wasn't expecting anyone to know. Diane and Hoa went to an orchid show together last year on this day (that was when they first met), and I was teasing they of course had to buy me a birthday present at the show. So I was curious if they'd remember that. But I guess they're not around much today.

Anyway, no biggie. It's a low key day, we have great weather, and it'll take me months to drop the weight I know I'll gain why do we have to celebrate with cake!!!

Thanks, guys! I'm not on the forum b-day list, because it's not a big deal for me. After the age of ten, birthdays lose some of their shine. I wouldn't have mentioned it, but all you goodie-two shoes started ganging up on me over the hijacking. It was partly spitefulness acting wounded because you didn't know something you couldn't possibly have known and partly a very clever ruse to REALLY hijack this thread right out of the attempted recovery's hands.

I had a lovely lunch with a 95-year old friend, I'm going to dinner at a neighbor's where we'll have some very nice wine I'm providing the wine - we'll be drinking the good stuff! And tomorrow night another friend is taking me to my favorite restaurant. So aside from over-eating, that's about it. I did get the perfunctory call from my 8-year nephews, but it was while I was out for lunch.

As for hijacks, this one has done such a loopty-loop, we're the only five people left following it, LOL! Sorry Lynda! You hang out with me at your own risk... I should come with a warning label!

Steven, the timing of your gift wasn't lost on me! Feel free to take all the credit! The sundew is still happy in its yogurt container. I added water yesterday, and need to settle it into the terrarium. Will it root into the sphag? There don't appear to be much for roots at the moment. Guys, the whole plant is smaller than my thumbnail!
