    Default My new whistles

They are made of olive wood by Phil Bleazey in the England. Took just over a year for the last one to arrive.

The big one is a Low D, then a Low G, A Bb, C and High D. I am playing the Low D and High D in church on Sunday: Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring. A friends daughter will be accompanying me on a violin.

I have to admit the title of your post intruiged me -- "new whistles" I was anticipating some sort of orchid joke but I couldn't quite figure out what it might be. The whistles, actual as they are, are very lovely! Good luck with your performance.

They're visually sumptous, Steven! I hope they sound as beautiful as they look! Well worth the wait.

    Post a sound file!

The wood on your whistles looks fantastic. I don't exactly what whistles sound like, however they does look very similar to recorders. I can sort of imagine the sound, but would think that the timbre would be a lot richer being made of wood.

They are very pretty...and I'm sure they sound pretty too (as long as you are playing them because I'm sure I would make them sound 'unpretty') I agree with everyone else...sound file!

I thought your post would be some new orchid setup...as in 'look at my new bells and whistles"....but in fact...whistles...
