BD, your sets are beautiful and wonderfully detailed. I especially liked the set of Dancing at Lughnasa.

Well, guess who is not having an matinée today? LOL. The lightning strike fried the computer control boards in the dimming system. This morning when I got to the theatre, random stage lights were flashing on and off at random times. The dimming system will probably cost around 80 - 100K to replace.I sure hope the university has insurance for things like this. There are electricians working on it right now. If they get it fixed, we will do a Monday night show right before I leave for the airport to go to NYC. LOL Can this get any crazier?
Thanks for all the kind comments about my design work. If you know a university that needs a scenic designer, give them my link...hehehehehehhe

Set looks awesome BD! whenever I did theatre...se never worked with a set...our stage sat on the actual stage (a 12 x 12 platform), with everyone sitting up close.
Beautiful work BD. it looks so real .. Gin
That's terrible about the lighting system BD. I hope that one way or the other they are able to fix it. Would insurance not pay for the damage to the system?
I sure hope insurance will cover lightning strikes, Kerry. I don't know what kind of policy they have on the building equipment. I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Nice pictures of great scenes in a VERY difficult lighting situation.
The lightning strike seems to have really done some major damage to the lighting system. It still has not been fixed. The electricians worked all day yesterday and we still have strange flashing lights all around the theatre catwalks. I don't expect it to be fixed before I head to NYC on Tuesday. Bummer. The kids really wanted to do another performance of the play. Many of their families had to return home today and will not get to see the production now.![]()
Thanks for all the kind comments and empathy!
