I don't think its scabiosa...bloom is kind of odd for it. I agree, its probably in the Iris family...off all the non-orchid lilies...Irises are my favourite. I agree, it is probably in the Neomaricas. But, whatever they are, they're awesome! Thanks for sharing...I think I've found something else to attempt a container garden with (my irises are doing well on my poarch at the moment).
I look closer the pics and noticed the leaves. These plants are not Neomarica, since the leaves of Neomarica are flat, and these are ruffled. So the next best thing is Tigridia. I would say it is Tigridia violacea.

I think we have a winner.
There are defiantly a bunch of those in the same areait is probably in the same family but the buds and flowers are a little different.
every thing else seems the same.
