I don't know if it helps, but on the RHS website, there are 3 plants listed in the cattleya alliance with the name goldmine:

Brassolaeliocattleya Goldmine
Brassolaeliocattleya Netrasiri Goldmine
Sophrolaeliocattleya Jiara Goldmine

To be honest, I wouldn't know how a Blc is likely to differ from an Slc, so someone else might be able to tell you which is more likely, but it's worth checking these out to see if they look like your plant. I know it's nice to have an idea of what your plant might be, even if you don't know for sure.

I am having much the same trouble with one of my catts as you have had with yours, so I have been keeping an eye on posts like this. Hope the catt recovers (and I hope mine do too!)
