with the naked eye is almost identical to the one showing the spikes. There is a very light yellow-greenish (more yellow than green) tint to the blooms.

The ring flash has a burst of intense white light that flattens out and overpowers the true color. On the other hand, it works better in certain situations, like the tiny B. catenulatum and elassoglossum blooms. (That is why I want to see what the soon-to-be-released Olympus EP1 would perform...but if I have it, I would probably have difficulty giving up the two older ones).
