Hey guys,
Well, the cattleya I've been asking you guys about has finally opened its blooms! Slowly, it's starting to show its face for the first time. I purchased this orchid without flowers, and it's my first to cultivate through a new growth and blooms. I didn't keep the tag (it was my first orchid-since I've kept the tags for my others-30 in total, lol). I've looked and think i've identified it online. It is a POT Burana Beauty 'Burana' HCC/AOS , it says it has a fragrance- I don't smell anything now but then again it hasn't unfurled the blooms all the way, i'll post pics as soon as they are open all the way.
Does anyone have this type of cattleya?

Yes! Very sweet if I recall correctly. And the bloom is bright yellow with hints of red/orange. Really beautiful.

Congrats! There really is nothing quite like that first bloom you earned. Not that I don't love the instant gratification of a plant in spike, but when you've watered/fertilized/watered some more and get that first flower -- very satisfying.

I have this plant. The blooms have to be open for at least 3-4 days in order to develop a fragrance. The fragrance is at its best in the morning when bright dappled light hits your plant in high humidity.

The smell is wonderful. Great job!
