Hamburg Orchid Exchange 2007

This weekend is a big weekend at the University Botanical Gardens - at least in my opinion - since there is a 3-day orchid show on... So naturally I went and took LOTS of pictures and thought I would share some of them with you! Hope you enjoy!

Here are some others where I don't know the names - some are quite unusual - if you recognize anything, I'd love to know! (especially the fourth one - I have never seen anything like it before!)

Wow, what a collection. I could name only a few of them. I love the way they set the shows up to look like you are walking through a jungle of orchids. I can't wait till the end of Jan. for the Miami show. And I have no idea what the weird one is. It's totally cool, and very unusual. Nice pic's, Thanx for sharing.

That's actually not an orchid, it's a bat flower (tacca chantrieri). Very cool, but it kind of scares me.

I forgot to mention, the two right after the bat flower really interest me too - anyone know them?

Looks like it was a great weekend at the university. I imagine it was great fun just to wander around in there--so many lovelies (and one very odd, could eat you alive if you don't lock the greenhouse door at night) to see.
