You can divide a dendrobium--meaning not cut the canes ("stalks") directly off the plant but cut down through the rhizome. You want to leave part of the rhizome intact. (Google: Dividing a sympodial orchid)

These plants can be very leggy. If I lived in Boca Raton, I'd graft these to some tree in your back yard and watch them grow naturally. You can just divide the plant and tie or hot glue it to something in your yard.
