Miltassia leaves- can anyone give any advice?

Hi, you guys must be getting sicl of all of these questions from me
I repoted my miltassia about a week ago and since then it seems to be doing fine, even has a lovely new growth in the centre next to the biggest p-bulb, I was wondering if this might be a sign that there may be another spike soon? The growth is getting to be 10" now. Will the new growth end up being a p-bulb itself?

I was also wondering if i should trim some of the old, slightly droopy leaves to let light in to the new leaves?

Yes, a pseudobulb will emerge from the new growth and then, hopefully, a spike. I would not trim the leaves.

I agree! And don't trim the leaves. This is how they grow.

Hi Shoogah, this is a shot of a Miltassia I picked up last year. The second pic is new growth it's put on since it finished flowering. I managed to get three spikes last year, hopefully more this year.

Excelent, thank you for the pics Mine looks very similar, new growth started in the centre of the pot on wednesday and is getting really big now. Its looking nice and green so hopefully it will develop a spike next season.

Thank you, i was getting a bit worried about the leaves for a while but now that I have found the new growth i'm not so stressed, something must be going right

I was thinking of moving the miltassia in to the bathroom which is the best room for filtered sunlight, was also thinking that the humidity would be good as the shower is running. Can anyone tell me if this is a good idea or if it would be too wet in there?

The humidity would be great, but some Oncidium Alliance don't like to get their leaves "misted", ending up with a fungal growth on the leaves. Mule ear types are prone to this especially. Air circulation is a big factor if you plan to do this. Also Miltassias like lots of light, as much as possible with out getting burnt. I put mine with my Cattleyas near my East window, getting as much light as possible. Pretty much as much light as a Phal would get. I also mist mine, but just the psbulb areas, not the leaves. This helps with humidity and moisture levels. These tend to be thirsty drinkers as with all Oncidiums and the Alliance alike, so I check often and water when needed, not letting them dry out completely. If they dry out, the leaves will corrugate.
