This is a standard cymbidium I got in mid february, carrying about 4 spikes and 6-8 bulbs, planted in a standard clear plastic pot in fine bark, very tightly potted if I may add. As this is my first cymbidium, having read some culture facts in the forum I kept it moist in a spot where it could get bright (but not very direct) light and watered it with the remaining water from my phals (I use the dunk-in-a-bowl technique), which I enrich with orchid bloom booster fertilizer and a drop of superthrive.
That said, I expected it to fall into the vegetative growth state after it finished blooming in late february and didn't give it a lot of notice. Since the plant is kept indoors, the temps vary from 15C to 20C.
However I noticed yesterday that there are some shoots growing from the sides of older bulbs and since I really have no clue as to whether these are spikes or new bulbs, I'll leave it to the experts.
I really wanted to repot, but if these are spikes, I may have to wait...
