Deflasking fungicide

So -- do yah'll think Physan is okay to use for deflasking fungicide? I worried it is too strong, but it is all I have on hand and I hate to wait to deflask a couple of flasks for the week or so it would take to get Captan etc. Thanks.

Oh, and have any of you ever tried the Ziploc bag method of hardening newly deflasked plants--first day approx 1 hour out in air, then compot back into a Ziploc bag, not sealed, just folded over. Next day 2 hours, then 3 etc for about a week. Successful?

Physan should be fine diluted, but we always us a spectracide, 'Immunox Plus'. Take a look at my article on Deflasking to see a photo of the bottle. Deflasking Paphs

I have heard of people using physan 20, and I bought my bottle for just that purpose when it comes time to experiement with flasking.

I've heard of the bag method on a phal flask vendor's website. I feel that it should work in my mind. I personally would use more than a week to harden off...

Okay--I used the Physan 20 as the fungicide. Deflasking was done on Sunday--so far so good. At least the fungicide doesn't seem to have done any harm.

These guys are normal sized babies--so it will probably be 18mos to 2 years before they bloom, but that's half the fun right. I have actually considered using these guys as my fertilizer test group--use MSU fertilizer on one compot, balanced on another etc. And then continue the same fertilizer routine on the seedlings to see how they grow/flower. Can't decide if I think that would be worth the experiment or not--I am curious. ...

A busy little bee may have pollinated one of my dens. My curious OH wanted to know why I didn't grow the seeds.....then I explained the whole process to him. It was good for a chuckle. Kudo's to all of you that do this sort of thing.....i'll stick with my sicko's. They are enough busy work for me!
