    Quite compact. Foliage is grasslike, pbs are bout 3/4 inch tall, entire plant is no more than 8 inches tall.

    Very nice, Paul. The color in my eye looks more of a deep mahagony, especially where the light hits it at an angle. Has it always flowered this color? The reason I ask is because another contributor posted a pic earlier this year of the same and it wasn't anywhere as deep a color. The name does imply that there can be 'variation' in the color.....very nice!

    Mine has always been this color. & yes, there truly is quite a bit of color variation in this species.
