I can't say I envy you guys the weather over there... many other things, but not the weather... Heck I have never even played in proper snow that fell from the sky yet... and I'n not THAT much younger than you...
But hey, listen, in nature plants survive worse... so you may have damaged the green bits you like to look at... My bet is there may be life yet in the roots and bulbs....
if the damage is very severe on a specific plant I would now do my best to induce winter dormancy...As long as there are healthy roots and bulbs (even without leaves) to feed new growth, I would give it some TLC.
Here by me I can see plants that went through baking hot 42C days in the sun for days hardly watered, and without the benefit of rain... does it look pretty... maybe not.... are they otherwise thriveing to the point of nearly climbing out of their pots now..? for sure.
I think they main thing you can learn from this is, stop working
Congrats with the birthday. We all make some little mistakes along the way... they keep us from makeing big mistakes later... so what if a few dies... they are only plants.
I think just by being involved online and so educateing yourself, you have allready gone way beyond what 80% of gardeners do...
I used to breed fish and kept underwater garden tanks... sometimes disease, cracked tanks, chemical spikes in the water supply, you name it, came and killed my most prized and named fishies or sometimes whole tanks full of them at a time... crap occurs. But I have had to empty my tanks a few times during the years, and put the hobby on hybernate mode...
Whenever I restart it, I have somehow formulated startegies not to repeat prior mistakes, and every time it gets more successfull... I think you'll find orchids just the same.
