Sadie, Hippeastrum is a related genus to Amaryllis. Most "amaryllis" that are sold in stores are actually Hippeastrum -- the real Amaryllis is a monotypic (contains only one species) genus.

Beautiful flower, Ron. I pretty much have given up completely on Hippeastrums -- I have never succeeded in getting them to rebloom no matter what I've tried.
