As Tami mentioned -- both are succulents. In fact both are closely related. The 'banana' shaped one is Senecio radicans whereas the one with spherical leaves is Senecio rowleyanus (aka string of pearls, string of beads, string of peas, rosary vine, etc)
Btw, this genus belongs to the daisy family and 'dusty millers' are also Senecios. How's that for diversity of form?
