Thank you I will just remove the dead roots and repot it and try not to let it get so wet this time, I still cant work out why it wasnt drying out quick enough, oh well time to try again, thank you so much for the advice.

The pot is not drying fast enough because it is too large in relation to the active roots that are taking in the water. Its like trying to drink from a fire hose.
The pot will retain moisture until it either evaporates or the roots take them all in.
When the pot is disproportionately larger than the root surface area, then medium still stay moist longer than necessary. Evaporation may not compensate for the overpotting if the pot does not have enough ventilation.
This prolonged wet conditions could put the living roots at risk of rotting as well.

Try to find a smaller pot, or at least one that dries out faster. Clay (unglazed) pots with side ventilation holes would be good candidates.
