Great picture Bruce! You captured it at its peak of freshness, which isn't easy with this flower. This plant says "TROPICAL" to me so it's one I painted when I first got here. Gaudy and fun!

Lynda, that is beautiful! It is so nice to hear from you too!

Bruce, Lynda, you have equally portrayed the subject in all it's glory... artistry transcends the media!
I'm amazed you have room for that, Bruce. The BoPs I grew up with during my high school years were huge things. Very nice![]()
LOL, yes, Paul, it is very large. We keep it in our house during the winter. It will not fit in the Greenhouse anymore. I can barely get it into the regular house. I generally tie it up and lean it in a corner near a window. I am sure it needs repotting, but last time it grew three feet!! Lol. Here is a really bad shot of it on the patio.

Hmm, I think I'll get one for my apt. LOL
Looks like you might need to try to up the light some more, Bruce. Seems rather etiolated -- not so much w/ respect to leaf color but rather how long and "weak" the stems seem to be.
That comes from growing through the winter in the house (October - May). By the end of the summer, it looks much better. I hate this every year, but around the end of July it looks much better. A few of the leaves will die off and some new, short thick ones will come up. Thanks for the recommendation, Paul!
