And this is it's second blooming Ron. Happily, multiflora is one of the smaller Aerides.

Cool ! It is soo much like aerides maculosum. I don't have this variety, I surely want it know.

Hallaomey, its interesting you say it looks like maculosum. I mentioned that it looked a little different in color to mine or what I've seen. Steve did mention the leaf length which also matches the maculosum agains my multiflora but that might be pllant maturity also.

Hi Roy, from the pictures you have posted, it seems that both the plants you have are variants of Aerides multiflora. Have a look at my post on Aerides maculosum. The flowers are a bit different in form and colour pattern. Also the inflorescence in Aerides maculosum is never so long and dense, it is rather branching with less dense flowers.

I am a big fan of these plastic basket pots, aren't they great !

Halloamey, I saw your thread and noted the pics. Even though they don't show in the pic, the maculosa spike has branches. I have seen imported plants of it flower here soon after arriving and most flower as yours does. Once they become accustom to the conditions here they flower like mine. The grower mine came from grows in the tropics and flowers his plants as yours, shortish spikes, they seem to get longer and more flowered with a cooler winter behind them. Aer. multiflora doesn't branch. The plants are totally different also.

Zero branching on mine over the past two blooming. Believe it's a multiflora. But, no matter what it is, I like it. Fond of Arides and if I had brighter light and more room, they are all I'd grow.

LOL, already run some supplemental lighting! Not sure my partner would be happy with me taking over another area!
