Connie,
I'd talk to local orchid growers. Tampa conditions are very different than Minnesota (e.g.).
It would seem to me that in Tampa, the misting should go off a few times each hour during the summer. In the winter, maybe a few times per day. The number of times a water friend is needed depends on the heat, time of year, amount of sun, and several other factors, including if you have a generator. i lost some plants in one day when the electricity went out during a summer day.

Update to the news, and they're not good.
I received the letter from HOA. In it, it only states that my greenhouse application is denied, but it doesn't provide a reason rather stating that the structure doesn't meet the guideline.
I never liked HOA, but now I am really mad at them as the Houston weather is cooling off. I have a lot more orchids this year so I can't bring them home during cold nights, and I have a ski vacation scheduled during holiday.
Oh dear. That really stinks. How disappointing and frustrating. I hope you are able to create a workaround of some kind. Keep us posted.
That stinks-I hope you're able to figure something out...
Oh no. What will you do now?
The board meeting for this month is on 16th. I plan on attending the meeting and asking for the reason to see if I can change anything to get the approval.
If not, I would have to figure out some temp solution such as portable greenhouse.
That is soooooooo terrible.... I hope you can work something out with them! Keep my fingers crossed!
I too will keep my fingers crossed. That would be terrible to deny a greenhouse! Hope you can get them to come around! Good luck!!
yes best of luck. I would not bother going to the meeting but go to their office ASAP and find out what their guidelines are. During the meetings they are dealing with current business.
