Yes, greenpod is before they split. That way the seed inside is still sterile. You have to be sure the pod is mature enough. I buy my mother flask and replate agar from a company ready to add hot water. (I can PM you where if you want) I use a pressure cooker to sterilize everything. I do things as "sterile" as possible. Everything goes in the tank before I seal the end. Simple trash bag and duct tape for that. I cut 2 small slits for gloved hands to fit through. Spray everything with 10% bleach solution and let it set for 10 minutes. Soak the seed capsule in the same solution and do some mild scrubbing with a toothbrush. Open the capsule with a sterile razor blade. I have some old dental tools I use to scoop out the seed and sprinkle it on the agar. Close the flask (I use regular wide mouth half pint jars or even baby food jars) cover with plastic wrap and cross your fingers.

I love your greenhouse. Beautiful setup there. I wish I had a garden space where I could place a stand-alone greenhouse at the center of my garden. Although here in the Philippines with our very warm, tropical climate, the world is our greenhouse and most growers would just have netting as cover .... although I feel that a greenhouse would still be good specially to protect and control plants from the extreme elements like during typhoons and extreme hot, dry seasons.

Wow, what beautiful place and so many babies. I am a beginner - still into having regular orchid funerals. Got a sunroom but in the summer it got so hot it was kinda like an oven - had to rescue the 'chids and take them to a cooler place - still trying to find a corner of the house or yard that can sustain the 'chids. Strange - I think I was a better mother of kids than 'chids. My collection is still small - don't dare get too many on account I cannot handle mass funerals. But these 'chids are firmly wrapped around my little finger, and I am determined to get a green thumb even if I have to paint it.
