I went back to the place I told everyone about a couple weeks ago with phals thrown in a box like junk...this is what I brought home. They were about $3 apiece....

It is sad to see so many beautiful and healthy / strong plants you know will be abused and killed... I have to stop going to boxstores- I always end up ' rescuing' the unusual ones or old favorites that show some spunk.... This is a time of change for the orchid industry- where mass production techniques bring exposure to orchids to so many more people- yet traditional growers are often forced out of the market place unless they can adapt to keep their regular customers and attract new ones.
