hmmm, so thats garayi!
The miniatum shown is the one normally sold as miniatum from Thailand and should be correctly named garayi. However many crosses have been made with this particular ascocentrum and registered as Asco miniatum.
Thanks for the info Yew.

I am new here, also from the Philippines and i am awed at the knowledge you have for orchid classification, as i love orchids but know only the major Genus. I have been following delphiguy and walingwaling mostly. Hello guys.
hi nindy where in the phils are you from? Also why only follow Ron and Me? everyone has beautiful orchids to share, its fun backreading everything.
haha, i just entered now so i instinctively followed what my countrymen have been posting. Besides i thought walingwaling from Tacloban City is probably my lady orchid-breeder friend. Unfortunately, i found out he is a guy - Ron. Don't worry i am just feeling myself around yet, started reading your posts and eventually will branch out to others. I just came in because of the Zygopetalum i posted in my blogsite, but dont know the species, much more the cultivar. thanks.
nindy, you'll be surprised how many pinoys are in this forum..... its always nice to to connect with pinoys.
With regards to the similarities of these species, just observed and examine their flower structures and you'll surely easily identify. And that's what I'm doing if I have new plants bought...
