You nailed it! I prefer side lighting (natural light only). Side lighting is wonderful for showing texture and adding depth to a photo.

My set up: Canon EOS 450D, Tamron 90mm Macro f/2,8 and my favorite tripod, Manfrotto 055 nature with 141RC.

The genus Darlingtonia contains only one species, Darlingtonia californica Torr. It is a pitfall pitcher plant related to Sarracenia and Heliamphora.

The most frequently used common names for Darlingtonia are cobra lily and California pitcher plant.



In the wild, Sarracenia psittacina occurs in Georgia, the Florida panhandle and the Gulf Coast from Alabama and Mississippi to eastern Louisiana (St. Tammany and Tangipahoa Parishes).
