If only I was a Xanthopan morgani predicta !!!! LOL
I miss my A. sesquipedale. It was a division that I got from one of our local collectors here and was growing well for me for almost 2 years though it never flowered yet. Until the sudden dry weather followed by nonstop rains a few months back where I discovered too late it had developed top rot and I had to cut the top off and apply fungicide. It never recovered since then and slowly lost all its leaves and eventually withered and died.![]()
It's an beautiful species, but difficoult to grow in Germany. Here, the flowering time is the winter time, also to less sunhine. My plant has, every year, diveloped the buds, but they died and don't flowered. To less sunshine. My bad luck.
Amey, you have me worried now !!!
Jojo, I know a few growers who have lost their plants in a similar way.
lanhua, you may need to invest in some grow/flowering lights.
To all, thanks for your comments, I also really like this plant ( particularly now that I have flowered the thing )
Great blooming and growing!! Very cool bloom!
