I wont be able to risk being caught foraging amongst the Cyp colonies/ Ophyrs and swamp meadow Dacts, the fines for tampering and poaching are huge.

I was not suggesting you go collecting and disturbing the Cyp Ophyrs colonies in the swamp LOL. As I already mentioned it wouldn't work because the mycorrhza of temperate terrestrials like cyps will be very different from say Vandas or Cattleyas. I wanted to to say that if you want to innoculant for your Vanda, you could make one from a Vanda orchid that was originally collected from the wild (its roots will have the associated mycorrhiza which can be isolated and purified and then sprayed onto your other Vandas that have been propagated by tissue culture and lack these mycorrhiza.)

Would the controlled application on mounts, of home grown white button mushroom spawn have any significance? I ask this due to the mycelium under soil level same wwith shitake, chesnut and oyster mushroom small scale farming.? Ofcourse im probably barking up the wrong tree! Have just applied 'blood/fish and bone to all the mounts as well.

I did not understand what you mean here? Do you want to test the efficacy of the systemic fungicide by treating your mushroom plots ?? It will work and your precious mushroom spawn will die, do not do it.

I know you werent promoting illegal activity Amey lol although i do have a couple of friends in phillipines not to far from Manila that maybe able to collect relevant tissue sample without taking plant from wild, he did manage to send over a gongora clav, darn! wish i had thought of it back then.

With using systemic fungicides as standard monthly general orchid care during winter outbreak fiasco i would imagine that being quite a hinderance to the mycozz or any mycozz culturing after application. My last application was March 2012 with Rose Clear Ultra. Do you think 2 or 3 months is sufficient to wait to allow fungicide chemicals to fade away or longer?. Dont wish to use it again anyway as extra Fans are now in use. Between 1 -2 litres of clean rainwater are sprayed daily.

The other bit, you poor git! No i dont want to experiment with fungicide on mushroom plots!Dont worry I wont do it!!!! lol! Edible Mushroom spawn and the 'mycelium' (fine white web like growths in substrate?). Is this mycelium possibly? of any use to orchids or a completely different subject altogether to Mycozz. I realise Mycozz is a much deeper detailed subject- species/ genera specific - and the little packet in the garden center is just pot luck at compatability. I thought about sprinkling some mushroom spawn on backside of orchid mounts? hoping for some kind of beneficial co existence? I do appreciate your efforts really i do!

Yes 2-3 months should be enough to rid of all the fungicide in your plants. But everytime you will treat your plants it will lead to the death of the mycorrhiza, so you should avoid systemic fungicides if you want to use mycorrhizas, rather go for contact fungicides.

The mycelium of the mushrooms you mention will be of no use to the orchids as they are not the symbiotic genera that the orchids need. Though they come from the same division 'Basidiomycota' they are from different families and genera.
