Lovely blooms Luis.
Those are very beautiful vandas, Luis. I have the same problem with thrips. They seem to target the vandas and cattelyas. I don't know how you manage to get rid of them. I find that if I don't use insecticide regularly the infestation gets really bad - and I hate using the stuff so often.
Crosssed fingers - I don't have any problem with thrips, but I do recall that they rapidly get immune to any insecticide for reasons which you will probably understand, so the important thing is to keep trying something different, every time you spray - if you spray..
I don't know what other folks do , but personally I add a disinfectant to my water - used to be Physan, but that is now unobtainable in Europe, so I actually use one intended for sterilising food preparation surfaces. I use this in my tanks, and in the water I use for general watering, and for spraying, and in S/H. Not strong - just a light dose ( Physan at 1:5000 as I recall). Keeps it all sweet , and if not enough to kll, it makes them - all of the pests and diseases - rather unhappy , so that they tend to sulk and go elsewhere ( scale on cattleyas is my one exception - it does reappear somewhere or other , periodically, but since I handle every plant every week, I simply wipe off with an alcohol/water spray and a cotton wool ball and it never gets to be an infection unlss I am away from the collection for a month or two )
Absolutely gorgeous blooms. Congrats.
