    Dear Kath...If I had a buck for every spike or lead that I have clumsily broken I could double my collection overnight!

    I usually only break spikes when I take my orchids to show them off at our societies monthly meetings. I have so much to learn. I now carry a large cooler in my car to avoid sunburn, baking or other transportation disasters.

    i had the big gold cymbidium i displayed in a previous thread, that got 3rd at the winter show, and when we went around the round-a-bout on the way, the plant fell over! and the spike went "SNAP!" i was gutted!
