The spootted yellow is Ascda Chuiangmai Gold, The darker brown, olooks a poor shape, but its largelyn the floweer I snapped and the angle, its =quite normally good really , is Ascda Haad Ravi x Lena Galbo , and the pink is V.Susan delight.
All have flowers a bit below normal in size, quality and certainly flower count ; 7 on each of the Haad Ravi cross and Susan Delight, and 10 on Chiangmai Gold , which is of course a smaller flower - say 6 or 7 cm, as compared to the 8 or 9 of the other two.
These are part of a row of a couple of dozen plants all repotted at the same time - early April and May, so the poorer flowers can be blamed on the disturbance. There are perhaps half a dozen more in the batch in spike . Half a dozen which have not flowered recently have been given the cold night treatment - simply left outside the greenhouse for three nights when temperatures of 8-10 minimum were expected . So far only one has responded ( the cool night trick was done 4-6 weeks ago) and that is an Aranda or perhaps a Mokara which has gone mad and produced what look like flower spikes in half a dozen places . I don't expect it will carry them all, maybe I'm asking too much and none will come to anything.
The sixty four dollar question is what they would have done if not repotted ?
Incidentally, I see from my notes that all these three were in flower at this time last year - they were part of my offering for my Societys display at a big show, and there were also some others - but I have another row to look at, where I may find some more flowering plants .
