What a nice setting for your orchids, Maura. I like the fact that there are other types of flowering plants there, too. It would be wonderful if you could put a lounge chair there, in the mist of all the flowers...What a nice place to sit & relax! Betty :-)

We have two teak folding chairs that just about fit on the terrace, but it's a tight fit - it will be especially nice to sit outside there when the Atlanta weather drops below 90 everyday!

Well, if you must know, few of the orchids, especially the phals spend the day outside - they go out for the night cooler temps and humidity. Right now the terrace is at its best from 6 am to 7:30 am - before i have to bring almost all of them in from the heat. More likely I will be extremely jealous when you have cyms spiking and mine are in revolt from too-warm temps and/or too little light - my monster cym lives outside in the shade and is learning to be a southerner - but we'll see if the drop i temp in October will actually set spikes - lots of new growth though.

EXACTLY! - at around 7:30 every am, I get to enjoy the whole spectacle until I have to bring virtually all of them in for the day. This hobby is addictive but a LOT of work!
